Interventions identified in published systematic reviews, syntheses, or meta-analyses as producing significant, positive health or behavioral outcomes and/or intermediate policy, environmental, or economic impacts based on a structured review of published high-quality, peer-reviewed studies and evaluation reports.

  • Intervention type: Behavioral Interventions to Reduce Screen Time

    Change type: Individual
    Description: Behavioral interventions to reduce screen time (time spent watching television and videos; playing video or computer games; surfing the Internet). These can be single-component or multicomponent and often focus on changing screen time through classes aimed at improving children’s or parents’ knowledge, attitudes, or skills.
  • Intervention type: Technology-Supported Coaching or Counseling Interventions to Reduce Weight and Maintain Weight Loss

    Description: Technology-supported multicomponent coaching or counseling interventions that use technology to facilitate or mediate interactions between a coach or counselor and an individual or group. Goal is to influence weight-related behaviors or weight-related outcomes. These interventions often also include other technological or non-technological components. They may focus on reducing weight or maintaining weight loss.

    Description: These interventions focus on changing physical activity behavior through building, strengthening, and maintaining social networks that provide supportive relationships for behavior change (e.g., setting up a buddy system, making contracts with others to complete specified levels of physical activity, or setting up walking groups or other groups to provide friendship and support).
