Health Insurance Programs

Federal and state programs are available to assist eligible families or individuals in identifying and obtaining health insurance.

  • Medicaid: Medicaid provides health coverage to millions of Americans, including adults with low incomes, children, pregnant women, elderly adults and people with disabilities. Medicaid is administered by states in accordance with federal requirements.
  • Medicare: Medicare is a federal health insurance program that provides healthcare coverage for individuals aged 65 and older. The program also provides coverage for individuals under age 65 with end-stage renal disease or certain disabilities.
  • State Children's Health Insurance Program: Administered by the United States Department of Health and Human Services, this program provides matching funds to states for health insurance for children.
  • State/Federal Health Insurance: Provides uninsured individuals options for identifying and enrolling in a healthcare plan.
