America's Farmers Grow Communities Project

Through the America's Farmers Grow Communities program, farmers enroll for a chance to direct $2,500 awards to local nonprofit organizations that are important to them and their communities.

Examples of organizations include:

  • Future Farmers of America
  • 4-H
  • Schools
  • Fire departments
  • Other civic groups

This program is designed for farmers who live in one of the eligible counties, are 21 years or older, and actively engaged in farming at least 250 acres. A farmer is considered "actively engaged in farming" if he or she performs the work on the farm, or hires and actively manages others who do so.

One nonprofit organization in each eligible county may receive a $2,500 award.
