The Georgia Shape program provides grants for public school programs that address physical activity and nutrition for children in Georgia. Schools can apply for grants to establish a nutrition-based only program or a nutrition and physical activity program. Grantees will also receive technical assistance, support, and training from the Georgia Health Policy Center.


Eligible applicants must:

  1. Be a Georgia public elementary, middle, or high school
  2. Have collected and reported Fitnessgram data to the Department of Education for the 2019-2020 school year
  3. Participate in the National School Lunch Program
Geographic coverage
Amount of funding

$1,000 - $2,500 to implement 2 nutrition strategies during the 2022-2023 school year

$2,500 - $4,000 to implement 1 nutrition strategy, 1 physical activity strategy, and one additional nutrition, physical activity, or employee wellness strategy during the 2022-2023 school year

$900 of additional funding is available to schools that implement one employee wellness strategy
