Illinois Health Professions Training
Illinois Primary Health Care Association works with partners to provide primary healthcare (MD/DO, APN, PA), dentistry, and behavioral health rotation opportunities in health centers located in medically underserved areas of Illinois.
Student training and rotation opportunities are available to health professions students at community health centers in both urban and rural settings. While completing clinical rotations, students are exposed to multidisciplinary culturally diverse settings, public health issues impacting access to care, a unique patient population and clinic structure and exposure to future employment opportunities.
The association also offers internships and an annual full-day health professions training to expose students to community health centers and underserved medicine before they make career decisions.
Students should be pursuing one of the following health careers:
- Mental Health Counselor
- Dental Hygienist
- Nurse Midwife
- Physician Assistant
- Social Worker
This is an educational/training opportunity.
Contact Ashley Colwell to inquire about training opportunities. If interested in a rotation, initiate contact at least 3 months in advance of the desired rotation date.
