South Carolina Family Medicine Locum Tenens Program
The Locum Tenens Program is designed to support practices and strengthen the retention rate of family practitioners in rural South Carolina by providing them an opportunity to take a break for vacations and family time, continuing medical education, or any variety of reasons that require the physician to be absent from the practice. Locum tenens physicians will step in while resident physicians take time away.
Priority for coverage is given to physicians located in health professional shortage areas and rural sites, but attempts are made to fill all requests.
This service is provided at a substantially reduced cost when compared to professional locum tenens services and is available on a first come, first served basis.
