According to the program website, "The NJLRP experienced an influx of provider applications and the process for the placement of healthcare professionals has changed. Interested parties may submit a provider application to participate in the NJLRP but will be placed on a waiting list. For more information about the waiting list, contact the NJLRP office."

Purpose

The Primary Care Loan Redemption Program of New Jersey offers loan repayment assistance to eligible healthcare professionals who agree to practice in state designated underserved areas or in a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA).

Recipients must agree to a full-time service contract for a minimum of 2 years, maximum of 4.

Eligibility

Applicants must be residents of New Jersey.

Eligible professions include:

  • Primary care physicians
    • Family medicine
    • Internal medicine
    • Pediatrics
    • Obstetrics and gynecology
  • Dentists
  • Nurse practitioners
  • Nurse midwives
  • Physician assistants

Amount of funding

Up to $120,000 over a 4-year service period.
