Alaska Community Development Block Grant Program
The Alaska Community Development Block Grant Program awards grants for Alaskan communities to support community development, planning, and economic development, including the development of essential community facilities and services.
The grant program provides funds for capital projects, such as:
- Health clinics
- Daycare centers
- Homeless shelters
- Accessibility improvements
- Water and sewer systems and waste disposal facilities
- Transportation improvements
- Fire protection facilities
- Planning activities
Economic development projects must create or retain at least one full-time equivalent permanent job per $50,000 of CDBG funding used.
Any municipal government entity as defined by Title 29 of the Alaska Statutes, home rule, first, second, and third class boroughs; unified municipalities; and first and second class cities, which exercise powers consistent with the proposed project, except the Municipality of Anchorage.
Award Ceiling: $850,000
Total Funds Available: $3,100,000
