Purpose

The NIMHD Health Disparities Research Institute is an intensive training experience to support the career development of promising minority health/health disparities research scientists early in their careers and to stimulate research in the disciplines supported by health disparities science.

The program offers lectures, mock grant review, seminars, and small group discussions on research relevant to minority health and health disparities. It will also include sessions with NIH scientific staff engaged in related health disparities research across the various institutes and centers.

The training will take place August 5 - 9, 2024.

Eligibility

Applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D./D.O., Sc.D., Dr.P.H., Pharm.D., Psy.D., D.D.S./D.M.D, or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited domestic or foreign institution.

Applications will only be accepted from post-doctoral fellows, assistant professors, associate professors, or early-stage investigators in comparable research positions who are actively engaged in minority health and health disparities research and who plan to submit an F, K, R21, or R01 grant to NIH within the next 12 months.

The course is offered at no cost, but admission is competitive and daily attendance is mandatory.
