Colorado Out-of-School Time Physical Activity Grants
The Colorado Health Foundation has closed their responsive grants program during the June and October 2020 deadlines and reallocate funding to focus on supporting COVID-19 response and relief efforts.
Out-of-School Time Physical Activity Grants will support organizations working to provide quality, structured physical activity in out-of-school time settings for Colorado youth ages 4-18.
Before school, after school, and summer programs are all eligible. Programs should work to increase the number of children and adults who engage in moderate to vigorous physical activity by providing a minimum of 90 minutes of structured physical activity per week.
Preference will be given to programs in rural and frontier communities. Specific funding priorities are listed on the program website.
Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or a public agency that:
- Currently operates an established out-of-school time program with a structured physical activity component
- Currently operates an established out-of-school time program that does not have a structured physical activity component
- Is starting up a new out-of-school time program in a rural or frontier county where few or no out-of-school time programs exist
Funds vary based on project needs. Preference is given to proposals that include other funders and have a plan for sustainability.
