Purpose

The American Indian Scholars Program provides financial support for American Indian and Alaska Native scholars, health leaders, health professionals, and paraprofessionals serving tribal communities who are interested in attending the Johns Hopkins Center for American Indian Health Summer or Winter Institute courses at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.

Eligibility

American Indian and Alaska Native scholars, health leaders, health professionals, and paraprofessionals serving tribal communities are eligible to apply. A Bachelor's degree is required, with a minimum GPA of 2.75.

Amount of funding

The scholarship typically covers course materials and full academic credit tuition for one course. Travel and housing costs are also covered for in-person courses.

The priority deadline is May 1, 2024 and the general deadline is May 17, 2024.
