Tribal Colleges Extension Grant Program: Capacity
The Tribal Colleges Extension Grant Program provides funding to establish and strengthen capacity to equip, train, and deploy extension educators and specialists to carry out tribal extension needs assessments and outreach activities.
Proposed activities should address one or more of the priority areas:
- Promotion of energy conservation and development of sustainable energy sources
- Increased reservation, pueblo, tribal, or other American Indian community food security
- Adaptation of tribal agriculture and natural resources to global climate change
- Reduction of childhood and adolescent obesity
- Improved food safety
Eligible applicants are tribal colleges that are designated as 1994 Land Grant Institutions.
Project period: 4 years
Estimated total program funding: $4,300,000
