National Health Security Award
The National Health Security Award is an honorary award that recognizes local health departments that have demonstrated significant accomplishments in implementing health security-related initiatives within their jurisdictions.
One winner will be selected from each of the following categories:
- Provide strong leadership
- Creation of a regional disaster health response system
- Support the sustainment of a robust and reliable public health security capacity
- Advance an innovative medical countermeasures enterprise
Awards will be presented at NACCHO Annual which will take place on July 10-12, 2018 in New Orleans, LA. Winners will also be featured in the NACCHO Preparedness Brief.
Local health departments are eligible to apply. LHDs may submit one application per category, but will only be eligible to win one award.
The awards are honorary. Arrangements will be made for awardees to be present at NACCHO Annual 2018.
