Purpose

The Strategic Prevention Framework - Partnerships for Success program (Short Title: SPF-PFS) provides funding to address one of the nation's top substance abuse prevention priorities in youth and adults. Awardees will identify the priority substance use issues in their community and develop strategies to deliver substance misuse prevention and mental health services. The Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) gives prevention professionals a comprehensive process for addressing the substance misuse and related behavioral health problems facing their communities.

Projects must identify populations served that are vulnerable to behavioral health disparities and focus on outcomes that reduce disparities in people who have systematically experienced greater obstacles to health based on their:

  • Racial or ethnic group
  • Religion
  • Socioeconomic status
  • Gender
  • Age
  • Mental health
  • Cognitive, sensory, or physical disability
  • Sexual orientation or gender identity
  • Geographic location
  • Other characteristics historically linked to discrimination or exclusion
Eligibility

Eligible applicants are domestic public and private, nonprofit entities, including

  • Community-based organizations
  • Federally recognized tribes
  • Tribal organizations
  • Local governments
  • Institutions of higher education

Award ceiling: $375,000 per year
