NHSC Substance Use Disorder/Opioid Expansion Site Opt-in

The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) received $105,000,000 for future NHSC Loan Repayment Program awards that expand and improve access to opioid and substance use disorder treatment in rural and underserved areas. New categories of outpatient services may be eligible for funding.

A NHSC-approved site is eligible to opt-in if the site provides any of the following services:

  • General substance use disorder treatment
  • Medication-assisted treatment (MAT)
  • Opioid treatment program (OTP)

Eligible opt-in applicants are outpatient sites that provide opioid treatment programs, office-based opioid treatment, and treatment for non-opioid substance use disorder. Active and inactive NHSC sites are eligible.
