The Radiology Equipment Initiative provides funding for qualifying rural Critical Access Hospitals and nonprofit clinics in the specified service area to purchase new radiology equipment. Facilities may apply for equipment that needs replacing or equipment that they do not have but can justify adding.

Qualifying equipment includes:

  • Fixed digital X-ray
  • Portable digital X-ray
  • Mobile digital C-arm equipment
  • Fixed digital fluoroscopy equipment

Eligible applicants include:

  • Critical Access Hospitals
  • Rural Health Clinics
  • Federally Qualified Health Centers
  • Other nonprofit 501(c)(3) or tax exempt (city or county owned) clinics

Applicants must be located in Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wyoming.

Available in 7 states.
Amount of funding

A maximum grant amount is not specified since a facility may request funding for more than one modality of equipment.

Submit a response to the request for proposals through the online system by October 1, 2018. Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal, with a deadline of December 1, 2018.
