The Iowa Department of Public Health is seeking a qualified applicant to provide comprehensive management and oversight of the State of Iowa's Small Hospital Improvement Program (SHIP).
Responsibilities will include coordination of group purchases of goods and services that align with the participating hospitals' designated activities that fall within any or all of the following:
- Enable the purchase of equipment and/or training to help hospitals attain value-based purchasing provision in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA)
- Aid small rural hospitals in joining or becoming accountable care organizations, or create shared savings programs
- Enable small rural hospitals to purchase health information technology, equipment, and/or training to comply with meaningful use, ICD-10 standards, and payment bundling
Eligible applicants are governmental, nonprofit and for-profit organizations.
Applicants may apply for up to $57,648 for program management and oversight costs. An additional $816,000 will be available for distribution to eligible hospitals for project-related goods and services.
The project period will be from June 01, 2019 to May 31, 2025, dependent upon contractor performance and availability of funds.
