Purpose

The Veterans Housing Rehabilitation and Modification Pilot Program provides grants to rehabilitate and modify the primary residence of veterans who are low-income and living with disabilities.

Projects should demonstrate proposed outcomes in:

  • Time savings
  • Health and safety
  • Mental wellness
  • Lowered stress levels
  • Ability to engage in previously inaccessible activities

Projects that focus on equity are encouraged. Equity populations include individuals who belong to underserved communities that have been denied such treatment, such as Black, Latino, and Indigenous and Native American persons; Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and other persons of color; members of religious minorities; lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) persons; persons with disabilities; persons who live in rural areas; and persons otherwise adversely affected by persistent poverty or inequality.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(19) organizations that provide statewide or nationwide programs that primarily serve veterans and/or low-income individuals.
