Integrated Mobility Innovation Demonstration Program
The Integrated Mobility Innovation Demonstration Program provides funding for projects that demonstrate innovative and effective practices, partnerships, and technologies to enhance public transportation effectiveness, increase efficiency, expand quality, promote safety, and improve the traveler experience. The program intends to test models across rural, suburban, and urban settings.
Three focus areas include:
Eligible applicants are providers of public transportation, including:
- Public transportation agencies
- State and local government departments of transportation
- Federally recognized Indian tribes
Applicants must identify one or more strategic project partner(s) with a substantial interest and involvement in the project. Eligible project partners may include, but are not limited to:
- Private for-profit and nonprofit organizations
- Private operators of transportation services
- Bus manufacturers
- State and/or local government entities
- Research organizations
- Industry organizations
- Institutions of higher education
There is no minimum or maximum award amount. Project scale will be determined by each project's ability to complete all proposed planning and development activities and launch the demonstration within 12 months of project award.
