The Recovery Community Services Program provides grants to recovery community organizations to provide peer recovery support services to individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs) or co-occurring substance use and mental disorders or those in recovery from these disorders.

Required activities include:

• Provide peer recovery support services to individuals with SUDs or co-occurring mental and substance use disorders. These services include, but are not limited to: employment coaching; recovery coaching; linkages to housing; recovery housing services; and care navigation services
• Provide support to families of individuals with SUDs or co-occurring mental and SUDs in the form of support groups, education, and navigation services
• Provide peer recovery support services as components of integrated care models
• Provide supervision, training, and mentorship to individuals who seek to become peer specialists
• Provide drug-free social/community environments such as drop-in centers; recovery centers; clubhouses; and other safe environments for those seeking to achieve or maintain recovery from SUDs

SAMHSA intends to make an equitable distribution of awards in terms of geography including urban, rural, and remote settings and balance among populations of focus and program size.

Eligible applicants are recovery care organizations (RCOs), which are independent, non-profit organizations led and governed by representatives of local communities of recovery. This includes domestic private nonprofit entities in states, territories, and tribes.

Award ceiling: $300,000 per year
