The Fostering Youth Resiliency grant program supports nonprofits and public organizations working to build resilience and increase protective factors for youth in Appalachian Ohio by addressing the social, economic, educational, and health challenges arising as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Funds support youth resiliency programming, including but not limited to:
- Tutoring and mentoring
- Behavioral health services
- Support groups
- Trauma-informed services, including virtual services
- Remote learning tools, including both hardware and software
- Services to meet special education and therapy needs
- Service learning and volunteer opportunities
- Prevention programs
Applicants are strongly encouraged to develop proposals that address the unmet, basic needs of young people, which include needs for food, personal care items, clothing, face coverings, and transportation.
Eligible applicants are public and nonprofit organizations, including public schools, in the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio service area.
Estimated total program funding: $350,000
Awards are expected to range from $10,000 to $30,000.
