America Walks
Nov 9, 2020

This program provides grants for projects related to creating healthy, active, and engaged communities that support walking as transportation, health, and recreation. For the current grant cycle, America Walks is particularly interested in projects that center the concerns of residents who are Black, Indigenous, and people of color; reach across the demographics of communities to build coalitions; and/or create unique civic partnerships with new perspectives.

Projects must:

  • Demonstrate that they will show increased physical activity and active transportation in a specific community
  • Work to engage people and organizations new to the efforts of walking and walkability
  • Demonstrate a culture of inclusive health and design
  • Show a strong and intentional foundation of equity and authentic engagement of the whole community

Community-based organizations and public agencies in the U.S. are eligible to apply.
