Notah Begay III (NB3) Foundation Community Empowerment Grants will provide funding to Native American communities for community-led, culturally-rooted programs in one or more of the core areas:
- Increasing opportunities for physical activity
- Increasing access to healthy and affordable foods
- Building youth leadership and advocacy
- Deepening cultural connections
Funding will be awarded in 2 phases, an initial 5-month planning phase followed by a 17-month implementation phase.
Eligible applicants include:
- U.S. based Native American-controlled nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations
- Federal and state recognized tribal governments or programs
- Native American community based groups with a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor
- Schools, but only if they have 501(c)(3) status
Award amount: $200,000
Project period: 22 months
Estimated number of awards: 5
