Purpose

The Hogg Foundation for Mental Health will award grants to support mental health and wellness among African American adults or African American youth/children and their families living in the Central Texas area. Eligible projects should focus on the following areas:

  • Education and awareness opportunities
  • Resources, services, and support
  • COVID-19 or trauma support
Eligibility

Eligible organizations include 501(c)(3) nonprofits, community-based organizations or collaboratives, including:

  • Nonprofit mental health organizations
  • Consumer advocacy organizations
  • Student and/or parent organizations
  • Faith-based/religious entities
  • Public libraries
  • School districts
  • Colleges and universities

Applicants must be Texas-based or have offices, chapters or affiliates in Central Texas, specifically in Travis, Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays or Williamson counties.

In this funding cycle, eligibility has been expanded to include the following counties listed in the HHS Central Texas-Region 7 catchment area: Bell, Bexar, Brazos, Burleson, Coryell, Falls, Freestone, Grimes, Guadalupe, Lee, Leon, Limestone, Madison, Milam, Robertson, and Washington.

Preference will be given to organizations led by Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color (BIPOC).
