The North Carolina Office of Rural Health offers funding for an organization or organizations to provide technical assistance for Critical Access Hospitals in North Carolina with a focus on the new Rural Emergency Hospital provider designation.
Required activities include:
- Convene rural hospitals with 50 beds or less in North Carolina to perform outreach and education to eligible hospitals on the Rural Emergency Hospital (REH) Model
- Scale and implementation: Assess hospital conversions and provide the technical assistance needed to convert to an REH hospital
- Financial and operational site assessments: Applicant facilities and their communities will need to do a significant amount of financial analysis to ensure that the REH will be financially viable and sustainable for their community.
- Coordinate activities with the National Technical Assistance Center
Applicants must demonstrate organizational capacity to manage the projects, including the ability to employ or contract with professionals credentialed in hospital financial, operational, quality, and/or population health improvement, as applicable to the grant proposal scope.
