The National Rural Health Association (NRHA) Center for Rural Health Leadership offers internship programs.
Current opportunities:
Residency
in Healthcare Executive Leadership Development
(10-20 hours a week, virtual with occasional in-person
meetings in the Tampa, Florida area)
Duties include:
- Assisting in NRHA's Certification Programs marketing, communications, and admissions processes
- Developing and distributing Certification Programs Cohort materials and information
- Help monitor Certification Programs Cohorts progress
- Track alumni CEUs and provide periodic updates to graduates
- Creating and editing content to include writing, researching, and video recording
- Assist in developing and refining rural hospital executive leadership database
- Research leadership development needs and rural hospital leadership turnover
- Expanding and developing the rural health network
- Assist Center staff as needed
Rural
Health Leadership Radio Internship
(10 hours a week, virtual with occasional in-person
meetings in the Tampa, Florida area)
Duties include:
- Reach out to rural health leaders at hospitals and clinics across the country to generate leadership development opportunities
- Assist with podcast scheduling and promotion
- Assist in creating content to include writing, researching, and video recording
- Coordinate and write a research paper on rural health leadership in collaboration with Bill Auxier, Ph.D. and Sydney Grant, MHA
- Assist in developing new leadership development programs, including content
- Research leadership development needs and rural hospital leadership turnover
- Assist in expanding and developing the rural health network
- Assist Center staff as needed
Required skills:
- Effective communicator over email and telephone
- Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills
- Research, data analysis, and scholarly writing skills
- Self-motivated
- Ability to work without much guidance
Internships are paid for 12 months.
