Women and Minorities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Fields Program Inactive
Grants to support research and extension activities that increase the number of women and underrepresented minorities from rural areas who will pursue and complete a postsecondary degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) disciplines. The target audience is K-14 students, meaning kindergarten through twelfth grade plus two years of post-secondary schooling, such as vocational technical institutions and community/junior colleges. Projects should focus on challenges facing agriculture and rural communities, such as increasing global demand for food production in the face of limited natural resources; improving health and reducing obesity; and increasing economic opportunities.

Higher Education Multicultural Scholars Program Inactive
Grants for scholarship programs leading to either baccalaureate degrees within the Food and Agricultural sciences or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) degrees in order to educate students in national need areas of the food and agricultural sciences and in rural economic, community, and business development.

Build Healthy Places Network Community Innovations for Racial Equity Inactive
Funding, technical assistance, and a peer learning cohort designed to build local Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC)-led community development capacity, support community power, explore innovative community ownership models, and address the barriers and gaps within community development and health partnerships to effectively propel racial equity. Priority will be given to rural, tribal, and small- to mid-size communities that have been marginalized and have had less access to resources.

Health Careers Exploration Program (HCEP) Inactive

Grants to fund programs in Texas that focus on tobacco prevention and cessation or screening for early detection of lung cancer, with the goal of developing more programs across the state, providing greater access for underserved populations, and reducing the incidence and mortality rates of tobacco related cancers.
