FNS: Revision of Categorical Eligibility in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP); Reopening of Comment Period

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) is re-opening and extending the comment period for a July 24, 2019 proposed rule that would have made changes to categorical eligibility for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) based on receipt of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits. Provides additional information on the potential impacts of the proposed changes on National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program participants. Comments on the new information are now being accepted through November 1, 2019.
