Summary
The Advisory Committee to the Director, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (ACD, CDC) will hold a public meeting on November 14, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Eastern. ACD advises the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services and the Director of the CDC on policies and strategies that will enable the CDC to fulfill its mission of protecting health through health promotion, prevention, and preparedness. Agenda items will include an introduction of the new CDC Director, Dr. Mandy Cohen; agency updates and priorities, including updates on health equity, laboratory, and data and surveillance recommendations; and discussion and voting on the Laboratory Workgroup final recommendations, among other things. Registration is required to attend in person and can be done via email to ACDirector@cdc.gov. Information on how to join the meeting virtually will be posted on the ACD website prior to the meeting.
