Describes the development of the Sanford Data Collaborative, a partnership between a rural hospital system and academic institutions to collaborate on data analysis to improve healthcare quality and lower costs. Strategies to improving care include predictive algorithms to evaluate clinical and behavioral characteristics in order to better manage chronic conditions and algorithms to measure patient engagement in their healthcare based on a patient's pre-existing behavior.
