Note From the Director: Celebrating 10 Years at RAC

Kristine Sande, RAC DirectorIt’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since the Rural Assistance Center (renamed Rural Health Information Hub 12/15) launched its fledgling web site, answered its first information request, and published its first Rural Monitor. In the decade since, many things have changed at RAC, but one thing hasn’t: our commitment to helping rural communities find information and opportunities that can help them to provide quality health care and human services to their residents.

As we celebrate RAC’s anniversary, I’d like to thank all of the organizations and individuals who have had a hand in its success. Every day, RAC staff reaches out to experts across the country as part of our ongoing effort to gather information and help our users. Our staff is passionate about connecting rural people and organizations with the resources and information they need, but we couldn’t do what we do without tremendous support, and the culture of sharing that exists within rural health and human services.

I’d also like to thank all of the users of RAC for taking advantage of our resources and services to help you do great things for rural communities. As you use RAC to help your communities, we always welcome your feedback on how we might serve you better. We also encourage you to share RAC resources with others to help us extend the reach of our work.

It has truly been a privilege over the last 10 years to help rural communities find the information they need to stay informed, make decisions and take advantage of opportunities that are available to them.

On behalf of the entire staff here at RAC, we look forward to serving you for many years to come!

Kristine Sande, director of the Rural Assistance Center
