Vision To Learn

  • Program Overview: Vision To Learn is a nonprofit organization that addresses barriers to vision care by bringing a mobile vision clinic to schools and organizations in low-income communities and providing free vision exams and glasses. Vision To Learn was piloted in Iowa in 2016 to address barriers to vision care access in eight Title I schools in Dubuque and Jackson Counties. During the 2016-2017 school year, Vision To Learn served 45 schools in seven Iowa counties. Nationally, Vision To Learn serves more than 220 cities across the U.S. To date, Vision To Learn has provided over 3,500 exams and prescribed over 2,700 glasses to students in Iowa at over 100 locations. The organization partners with a number of philanthropies, including the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque, the Community Foundation of Jackson County, the Allamakee County Community Foundation, and the Jones County Community Foundation to expand access to vision care.
