Module 1: Introduction to Healthy Food Access

Although access to nutritious food is a critical component to healthy living and preventing chronic diseases, many communities lack the infrastructure to support healthy lifestyles, and many community members lack the resources to purchase healthy foods, particularly in rural areas. This module introduces some of the unique challenges rural communities face regarding food access and provides important background information necessary to improve these conditions.
