Evaluation Objectives for Services Integration Programs

Services integration programs should develop evaluation objectives that align with the evaluation questions. Evaluation objectives can help a program:

  • Document the level of success in achieving program objectives
  • Identify areas for improvement
  • Decide how to allocate resources
  • Mobilize community support
  • Identify new funding sources
  • Make new partnerships
  • Determine the potential for sustainability

Evaluation objectives are most useful when they are SMART:

  • Specific – Detect changes in the program.
  • Measurable – Collect data that are complete and accurate.
  • Actionable – Show performance over time to identify when or where action should be taken.
  • Relevant – Focus on only the relevant indicators.
  • Timely – Capture data in the period it is needed, if not real time.
