Module 6: Funding and Sustainability of Rural Maternal Health Programs

Sustainability refers to maintaining and continuing program services in spite of challenges. Rural communities implementing maternal health programs must plan for sustainability and consider strategies to address potential challenges, such as limited funding and resources, to continue to provide services that meet community needs.

For an overview on how to plan for the sustainability of a program, as well as strategies that would apply to any type of program, see Planning for Funding and Sustainability in the Rural Community Health Toolkit.

This module discusses the key sustainability strategies to consider for rural maternal health programs.
