The Public Health Associates Program: Opportunities for Rural Host Sites

The Public Health Associates Program (PHAP) is a two-year, paid training program with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where associates gain real-life experience working at public health agencies and nongovernmental organizations around the country. Upon completion of the program, associates will have earned the qualifications to apply for jobs in the public health sector.
This session will discuss PHAP's mission and goals and describe how the program can benefit a rural health department. Will also provide an overview of the CO-STARR Model: the seven (7) characteristics of a quality PHAP training experience. The application period for organizations interested in applying to become a host site is December 15, 2020-February 16, 2021, while the application period for PHAP candidates is January 21-27, 2021.
