South Carolina Rural Dentist Loan Repayment Program
The South Carolina Rural Dentist Program provides loan repayment assistance to dentists who agree to practice in an approved shortage area of South Carolina or serve as full-time faculty at the MUSC College of Dental Medicine. Dentists are expected to treat at least 100 unduplicated Medicaid patients.
Eligibility requirements:
- Loans must be from a recognized financial institution
- Applicants must have no active, outstanding service obligations to the federal or state government or any other entity
- Applicants are expected to be (or become) a Medicaid provider and treat at least 100 unduplicated Medicaid patients a year
- Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident
- Must practice in an area of need or contract to serve full-time at the MUSC College of Dental Medicine
Up to $100,000 over four years
