Purpose

The Minnesota Rural Hospital Capital Improvement Grant Program assists small rural hospitals (50 or fewer beds) with funding for projects to update, modernize, remodel, or replace aging hospital facilities and equipment necessary to maintain operations.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are nonfederal, nonprofit, general acute care hospitals that:

  • Are located in a community with a population less than 15,000 that is not in the 7 county Twin Cities metropolitan area
  • Have 50 or fewer beds
  • Demonstrate that at least 25% of the grant amount will be matched with non-state resources
