Purpose

The VA Homeless Providers Per Diem Only Grant Program offers funding for eligible entities to provide provide transitional housing beds or service centers for veterans who are homeless or at risk for becoming homeless.

Applicants should offer one or a combination of the VA transitional housing bed models:

  • Bridge Housing
  • Low Demand
  • Hospital-to-Housing (Respite care)
  • Clinical Treatment
  • Service-Intensive Transitional Housing
  • Service Centers

Descriptions and expected deliverables for each model are provided in the application instructions.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants include:

  • City and township governments
  • Special district governments
  • Public and Indian housing authorities
  • County governments
  • State governments
  • Federally recognized Native American tribal governments
  • Nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status, other than institutions of higher education

Award amounts will be based on the type and number of housing provided.
