California Allied Healthcare Scholarship Program

The Allied Healthcare Scholarship Program awards scholarships to California residents who are enrolled in allied healthcare programs.

Recipients must agree to provide direct patient care on a full time basis in a designated shortage area in California for a minimum of one year.


Applicants must be free from any other service obligation and enrolled in one of the following allied healthcare programs:

  • Clinical Laboratory Science
  • Community Health Worker
  • Dental Hygienist
  • Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • Medical Assistant
  • Medical Imaging
  • Medical Laboratory Technology
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Pharmacy Technician
  • Physical Therapy Assistant
  • Radiation Therapy Technology
  • Radiologic Technology
  • Respiratory Therapy
  • Social Work
  • Surgical Technician
  • Ultrasound Technician
  • Dietician/Nutritionist

Amount of funding

Up to $8,000 in return for one year of service. Applicants may be awarded up to 3 times.
