Purpose

AmeriCorps will fund Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) projects that support volunteers 55 years and older serving in a diverse range of activities in areas with specific local and community needs.

Funding priorities include:

  • Supporting older adults and their caregivers: Caregiver respite, support groups, system navigation, care coordination, and resources for custodial grandparents
  • Helping older adults re-enter the workforce: Job readiness support, mentoring, training, and removing barriers to employment
  • Building strong families: Supporting parents and children to succeed, parent mentoring, connecting families to resources, and strengthening community partnerships
  • Preventing and mitigating fraud and scams: Digital navigators and other methods to prevent and mitigate financial fraud, abuse, and exploitation
  • Reducing the number of people who are unhoused: Provide affordable housing, support the unhoused, and addressing housing needs
  • Supporting behavioral health initiatives: Reduce isolation, improve mental health, offer peer support, provide support, and prevent substance use

  • Institutions of higher education
  • Local governments
  • Nonprofit organizations
  • States
  • Territories

Applications from rural communities are encouraged.

Amount of funding

Award amounts will vary as determined by the scope of the projects. The federal share of the budget cannot exceed $75,000 plus $350 per unduplicated volunteer. There is no maximum request amount.

Applicants are required to match funds through local, non-federal contributions of cash or in-kind services. The required match is at least 10% of the total project budget.
