Purpose

The North Carolina Rural Center offers loans to small businesses in the state. Small businesses could include rural healthcare providers.

Lending products include:

  • Thread capital - Loan funds, business planning, and technical assistance for the start-up and expansion of small businesses
  • Loan Participation Program - The Rural Center purchases 15% of loans made by lenders to reduce the risk of small business loans.
  • Capital Access Program - An intermediary small-business lending program that works with local lenders to help expand access to capital and secure lines of credit
