BNSF Railway Foundation Grants
The BNSF Railway Foundation offers grants to organizations that operate near a BNSF railway. Priority giving areas include:
- Health and Human Service Organizations, including, but not limited to:
- Programs that address chemical dependency treatment and prevention
- Spouse and child abuse programs
- Women's and children's aid
- Transitional shelters
- Youth Organizations
- Civic Services, including:
- Parks and recreation
- Crime prevention programs
- Community development
- Educational Institutions
- Federally recognized tribal governments
Applications are accepted from:
- 501(c)(3) organizations
- Divisions of local government
Organizations or programs should exist in or serve a community near one of BNSF's rail lines. Priority will be given to organization that have an established relationship with BNSF Railway Foundation.
Proposals are significantly more likely to receive funding if the organization or project meets one of the following criteria:
- Has significant BNSF employee participation
- Provides services or is located in close proximity to a BNSF main line or BNSF is the only major corporation in that area of the state
- Relates directly to the railroad industry
- Engaged in programs for a charitable purpose that align with BNSF Railway Foundations mission statement
No award ceiling is given.
