Purpose

The Maryland Loan Repayment Programs offer loan repayment assistance to primary care physicians, physician assistants, medical residents specializing in primary care, nurses, and nursing support staff who agree to practice in an underserved area of Maryland.

Applicants must agree to a full-time practice obligation for 2 years.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants include physicians, physician assistants, and medical residents in primary care fields, as well as nurses and nursing support staff.

Amount of funding

Physicians and physician assistants: Up to $100,000 per year for a 2 year service commitment

Medical residents: Up to $100,000 per year for a 2 year service commitment

Advanced practice registered nurses (CRNP, CNM, CRNA, CNS): Up to $100,000 per year for a 2 year service commitment

Nurses (RN, LPN) : Up to $50,000 per year for a 2 year service commitment

Nursing support staff (CMT, CMA, CNA, GNA): Up to $5,000 per year for a 1 year service commitment
