The Rural Iowa Primary Care Loan Repayment Program provides loan repayment for physicians that agree to practice in specified locations of Iowa for up to 5 years.
Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a program leading to a doctor of medicine degree or a doctor of osteopathy degree at the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine or the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.
Priority will be given to eligible students who are residents of Iowa.
Up to $40,000 is paid annually to eligible student loan balances for up to 5 years. The maximum award is $200,000.
