Purpose

The Early Childhood Health Program provides grants for early intervention programs in the Medica Foundation service area that focus on developing healthy families to foster optimal growth and development of young children.

Funding may be used to:

  • Improve access to prenatal and postpartum care
  • Address preventive health and dental care
  • Enhance parenting skills
  • Support developmental, social, and emotional health
  • Address the needs of children experiencing homelessness, trauma, or toxic stress

Preference is given to organizations using trauma-sensitive practices and a strengths-based approach to care, as well as to proposals that build partnerships and collaborations within a community.

Eligibility

Organizations must operate within Medica Foundation's service area in Minnesota, western Wisconsin, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Nonprofit organizations that are 501(c)(3) legal entities, Native Nations, or governmental agencies are eligible to receive funding.

Up to $25,000.

A two-step application process is in place for Early Childhood Health grants. Submit an initial application through the online application portal by April 29, 2022. Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal, with a deadline of September 2, 2022.
