Purpose

The Early Childhood Health Program provides grants for early intervention programs in the Medica Foundation service area that focus on fostering optimal growth and development of young children.

Priority is given to proposals that strategically align their work to advance health equity for the following communities: Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC); immigrants and refugees; individuals experiencing homelessness; people living in rural areas; LGBTQ+; youth in or aging out of foster care.

Focus areas include:

  • Abuse prevention
  • Culturally-focused care
  • Early childhood health workforce
  • Maternal health and birth equity
  • Support developmental, social, and emotional health
  • Oral health
  • Parenting skills
  • Primary care and immunizations
  • Social-emotional learning
Eligibility

Eligible applicants are 501(c)(3) charitable organizations, public/governmental agencies, or Tribal Nations located in and providing services in Minnesota.

Up to $50,000.

A two-step application process is in place for Early Childhood Health grants. Submit an initial application through the online application portal by March 29, 2024. Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal.
