Purpose

The School Based Mental Health Services Grant Program offers grants to increase the number of qualified mental health service professionals providing school based mental health services to students in local educational agencies (LEAs) with a with demonstrated need.

Applicants must propose to increase the number of qualified school counselors, school social workers, school psychologists, or other mental health professionals, including those who provide services remotely (telehealth), by implementing plans to address the recruitment and retention of service providers in LEAs with demonstrated need, including providers from diverse backgrounds and those from the communities they serve.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants include State Educational Agencies and Local Educational Agencies with a demonstrated need.

A 25% match from state, local, or private resources is required.
