Purpose

The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) offers one year fellowships that feature curriculum, faculty, and events tailored to address a topic of significant relevance to family medicine. The fellowship's goal is to create leaders who can address health inequities at the system and community levels.Tracks have included rural health, academic medicine, and traditional family medicine.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants include:

  • AAFP membership with a preference for applicants who are from population groups underrepresented in medicine and/or those practicing in rural communities
  • In practice or on teaching faculty
  • Out of residency and fellowship

Travel and lodging expenses will be reimbursed up to $1,500 per meeting.
