The Health Center Program provides grants to health centers that offer comprehensive primary healthcare services to an underserved area or population. This program targets the nation's neediest populations and geographic regions. Areas with an August 1, 2024 project period start date are eligible to apply.

Funding is available for Community Health Centers (CHC), Migrant Health Centers (MHC), Health Care for the Homeless (HCH), and Public Housing Primary Care (PHPC). Applicants must serve an entire service area listed in HRSA's Service Area Announcement Table.


Applicants must be a public or nonprofit private entity, such as a tribal, faith-based, or community-based organization that proposes to offer comprehensive primary care services to an entire service area.

HRSA uses a two-tier submission process for Service Area Competition (SAC) applications through and HRSA Electronic Handbooks (EHB).

The application must be submitted by February 20, 2024, and the HRSA EHB application must be submitted by March 20, 2024.
