Purpose

Alkermes Inspiration Grants provide funding to organizations working to address the needs of people living with addiction, serious mental illness, or cancer. Priority is given to proposals targeting historically under-resourced or underrepresented communities.

Areas of interest include but are not limited to:

  • New and innovative programs to address the needs of people affected by alcohol dependence, opioid dependence, schizophrenia, bipolar I disorder, melanoma or ovarian cancer
  • Enhance support or resources for the population of focus, such as helplines and mobile outreach
  • Innovative efforts to meet educational needs of patients, families, and caregivers in under-resourced or underrepresented communities
  • Education and support for people living with addiction and/or mental illness to return to work and/or reenter society from criminal justice settings
Eligibility

501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that are not engaged in the practice of healthcare (including counseling services) are eligible to apply.

Award amounts have typically ranged from $25,000 to $75,000.
